Watch the hands! Hands-on approach?

Update: Loud and clear. AI asset submissions will be rejected. I am sorry and do feel a bit bad for not using your animations that took a while to render, but eh, it doesn’t feel right.

Hi, here is another poll since it is pretty divisive. I wish for you to vote on it here: https://strawpoll.com/poy9kNOeDgJ. I wish to gauge the room and take the temperature of the audience.

I have experimented a bit with training an AI model on my own artworks for Pony and Illustrious. I have received a few animations for Allie and Emmie’s groping based on this model. In the past, I have been open to asset submissions.

Here are some rough mockups on a test map of how it would look like along with my old animations:

These would have a random chance to play when fully nude.

The issue now is that it clashes quite significantly with the older animations I’ve created around 2016-2017 and is more refined in its rendering than would really be humanly possible.

My personal opinion on the matter of AI slop ( even trained on my own artworks ) is that it lacks a human touch that I think will be pretty off-putting and it is very inconsistent. It is able to do things quickly, however.

As a tool, I see the utility in fundamentally being able to create an assistant which can handle tasks. On the other hand, I am giving up some of my creative vision of the project as I am not completely in control of it. I have valued keeping my specific vision of the project, but I’ve also allowed other people to submit assets in the past and have compromised on this consistency before. It also feels a little ungrateful to snub my nose at what probably took a long while to render.

Would you like me to use such assets? Would you want me to maintain a strict policy to exclude them? Make sure to vote and feel free to leave a comment with your feelings on the matter.

I say both but I really love your animation and I like it to stay that way but if it takes a work load off your shoulders then by all means use it if it doesn’t sit right with you don’t

In my opinion, I do both ^^ one quickly and the other later with your lines calmly ^^, that way you calm the audience while you wait for the other one ^^

  3. I really like your old animations. And if you feel like you want them to be improved I wouldn’t want you to avoid replacing them. however the AI version isn’t as good. It doesn’t fit the style of the game or other animations. I agree with you that they don’t feel like they have a human touch. and as I can kind of tell by your writings the gernation seems inconsisitent and like it’d take longer to get the machine to fix it’s own animations intsead of drawing new ones. Keep AI out of the game your work feels better than having a weird animation that doesn’t fit.

Why won’t you make them been applied or disabled by an option?

I dont see anything wrong with AI in general. Its how you use it that can make it problematic, like anything else, I would say. Personally, for your projects involving art and animation, its a great tool because it saves time, and AI generated creations now have an incredibly good rendering. You can always correct the flaws the AI has made and work with it to create a true masterpiece. So, in any case, you’ll still have to work on the animations.

Whats wrong with AI? Are people afraid of it? I accept and embrace new technologies. People should do the same, or they will be left behind by evolution, they will be surpassed

The reason everyone is so afraid of it is because grifters and scammers use it to steal from other artists as seen with the recent outrage at the Ghibli AI art as those were made with explicitly stolen and copyrighted art. With the recent tech trend, corpo bigwigs think they completely replace their artists with ai rather than using it as a tool, completely butchering the creative process and creating uncanny pieces that don’t feel natural or fit the narrative.

Much respect for not using AI. If you ever charge for the game, or allow donations, I’ll happily support artists in their endeavors!
